Auchterhouse Church Knitting Circle
Needles and pins and instant wins
We keep busy throughout the year knitting and crocheting and meeting every couple of months for coffee and chat.
We have been able to support the following organisations with various items:-
We knitted Comfort Teddies to be given to children who have experienced trauma.
The Hospice at Whitehills Community Hospital in Forfar
Every new patient is given a gift of a knitted or crocheted shawl or knee blanket and we have managed to give them a large number of these items, along with a note wishing them well.
We have made various garments and blankets including hats, gloves, scarves and jumpers.
We were able to give several items for sale on the craft stall at the fund-raising lunch held by Auchterhouse Rural.
Ninewells Special Care Baby Unit
We knit tiny hats for the premature babies.
We are always delighted to welcome new members who enjoy crocheting or knitting or even perhaps want to learn a new skill or brush up on what they learned many years ago!
Anyone who is interested please contact Christina Duncan (Tel: 380225) or Sue Stewart (Tel: 320339) for more information. We would also be very pleased to hear of any organisations who would welcome our help.
